Applications are invited from Indian nationals belonging to booked classifications (SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwD (VH, OH, HH)) under special recruitment drive for the post of Assistant Professor in the Departments of Aerospace Engineering, Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, setiathome.berkeley.edu Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Cognitive Science, Computer Technology and Engineering, Design, Earth Sciences, Economic Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, Space, Planetary & Astronomical Sciences & Engineering (SPASE), Sustainable Energy Engineering, and Kotak School of Sustainability.

Several Departments also take part in the mentor and research study activities of interdisciplinary post-graduate programs in the institute in Photonics Science and Engineering and Materials Science Program. Appointments for these programs are made in the appropriate departments amongst those noted above.

Minimum Qualification (Assistant Professor): Ph.D. with very first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, and so on) at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch, with an extremely great academic record in all preceding degrees. For a fresh Ph.D, the position will be on contract basis for the first 3 years, and can be regularized later on. For those with three or more years of post-PhD teaching/research/industrial experience, routine appointment can be made.

The Institute follows appointment in direct recruitment as per the arrangements of the Central Educational Institutes (Reservation in Teachers' Cadre) Act, 2019. The current special drive advertisement is to fill up 56 stockpile jobs in reserved classifications till 31st December 2024.

Other information:

1. The pay carries all other allowances as admissible to a Central Government employee stationed at Kanpur.

2. The advantages, such as LTC, medical re-imbursement, transport allowance, children education allowance, contribution towards New Pension System (NPS), re-imbursement of telephone bills, book grants, HRA (if real estate not offered), research initiation grant (up to Rs 25 lakhs with the provision to make an application for an additional grant) and financial support towards nationwide and global conferences shall be allowed according to the Institute standards.

3. From its internal resources, the Institute provides an additional top-up wage of Rs 25,000/- monthly for the first three years of service to the freshly signed up with faculty members. After three years of service, the faculty member(s) are qualified for factor to consider for Young Faculty Fellowship (open for professors of age upto 40 years) supplying a top-up income of Rs.15,000/- per month for three years, and/or Faculty Chair positions providing a top-up salary of Rs 25,000/- each month for three years. Both the positions are offered based upon performance.

4. Traveling allowance for signing up with: The Institute will reimburse worldwide travel expenses for the recently signed up with professor and dependent member of the family to the maximum limit of Rs. 1,50,000. Domestic travel reimbursement will be as per federal government rules.

5. The Institute makes every effort to provide housing to all professor. Your homes are geared up with high-speed web.

6. Mere eligibility will not entitle a candidate for being required interview.

7. Applicants who do not satisfy the minimum experience requirements might be provided a visit on contract. The requirements of minimum certification and/or experience might be relaxed when it comes to prospects with impressive credentials.

8. The Institute follows the booking in direct recruitment according to the provisions of the Central Educational Institutes (Reservation in Teachers' Cadre) Act, 2019. The candidates are needed to send the Caste/ Category/ Disabilities Certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the format prescribed by the Government of India for this purpose. 11. Applicants required and appearing in interview will be paid to and fro economy air fare/train fare by the fastest route (within India) and taxi fare from Lucknow airport to IITK and back. Please keep in mind that the amount of fare will be remitted through electronic transfer by our Accounts Section after processing the claim. Local hospitality will be looked after by the Institute.

12. Applicants who are employed in Government or Semi-Government Organizations will be needed to produce a "NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE" from their company at the time of the interview.
